A dump truck was climbing a hill when its engine suddenly died. This caused the truck to loose power in its air brakes which led to the dump truck rolling backwards. The dump truck continued backwards until crashing into a school bus. Seven people were rushed to the hospital. By the time the dump truck driver had been able to restart his engine and reactivate the air brakes, he had already slammed into the bus located behind the truck. It was a very steep hill and the dump truck driver did what was possible to stop it.
The school bus was at a complete stop when the accident occurred. The bus had 18 people on it from local Central High School at the time of the crash. All passengers seem to be in fair condition.
A full investigation is planned to look into the lost power of air brakes and dump truck crash into school bus.
