After the brakes failed on a dump truck, a 13 vehicle pile up resulted, leaving 5 people injured. The multi vehicle collision occurred at the Grand Avenue off ramp to Interstate 580 around 4:30 pm. Police officials have said it’s literally a miracle that no one suffered fatal injuries in the wreck. The truck was coming off the freeway exit when it plowed through the first vehicle which lead to a chain reaction. The first vehicle hit was a Honda, which got completely crushed on the rear end. The Honda was simply sitting a red-light before being rear ended. The driver of the dump truck still claims that his brakes simply failed.
